Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before registering for Lyftathon Kigali 2026.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for or participating in Lyftathon Kigali 2026, organized by CareerLyft Technologies Ltd ("we", "our", or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not register or participate.

2. Eligibility

The hackathon is open to individuals aged 18 and older. Participants must register before the deadline (April 25th) and provide accurate information during registration. We reserve the right to verify eligibility and disqualify participants who do not meet the requirements.

3. Team Formation

Participants may register as individuals or as part of a team. Teams must consist of 2–5 members. We may assist with team formation for individual registrants. Each participant may only be a member of one team.

4. Project Submissions

All projects must be original work created during the hackathon. Participants may use open-source libraries and publicly available APIs. Projects must align with one of the designated hackathon tracks. Submissions must include:

  • A working prototype or demo
  • Source code in a public or shared repository
  • A brief presentation or pitch deck

5. Intellectual Property

Participants retain full ownership of their project submissions and intellectual property. By submitting a project, you grant CareerLyft Technologies Ltd a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to showcase your project on our website, social media, and marketing materials for the purpose of promoting the hackathon and future events.

6. Prizes

Prizes will be awarded based on the judging criteria outlined in the hackathon guidelines. Prize amounts are as stated on the event page. Prizes are non-transferable and may be subject to applicable taxes. We reserve the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value.

7. Code of Conduct

All participants must adhere to our Code of Conduct. Violations may result in disqualification and removal from the event without refund or recourse.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CareerLyft Technologies Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your participation in Lyftathon Kigali 2026. This includes but is not limited to loss of data, equipment damage, or personal injury.

9. Media Release

By participating in Lyftathon Kigali 2026, you consent to being photographed, filmed, and recorded. These materials may be used for promotional purposes by CareerLyft Technologies Ltd and event partners.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Kigali, Rwanda.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms of Service at any time by updating this page. Registered participants will be notified of material changes via email.
